Pink Truth still doesn't get that you aren't supposed to buy Mary Kay prizes
The Scribbler has done "the backbreaking work so you can laugh at it later...."
In other words, she has calculated how much you would have to spend to "buy" the prizes that you are supposed to earn.
If you are just 'doing your job' and earn these prizes above and beyond the money you are earning by selling product, shouldn't the numbers be more like "I saved..." or "I got .... extra, just for fun".
Has anyone in the history of Mary Kay honestly genuinely thought to themselves, "'...paying $1800 for a digital photo keychain!' no way I can get a better deal than that"?
Somehow, I doubt it.
Sorry, "scrib" funny, but this doesn't really make sense.
A for effort.

But you are probably better emailing mk4me: mk4me2@gmail.com
The whole post is just kind of non sequitur. Obviously, if you want those items, but don't get them from MK, you can just go out and buy them yourself... not really much to post about, is it?
ReplyDeleteI have to give Scrib credit she is a great writer! If you get a prize great it shows you are selling/ordering (take your pick) but it is nice to know you have something quarterly coming to you that you didnt have to go out and buy. I used to like it when MK would have those desks and faz machines. Many people get these prizes every quarter and it shows a sign of success.
ReplyDeleteI would be ashamed if I had done something like buy $1800 (or more) worth of the product that I didn't need to get the prize to admit it publically. I just don't understand how they don't understand it is suppose to be used as an incentive to do the work and receive it as a bonus. Just like any other job would do with bonuses. Do a good job, you get a prize, and if you don't do a good job, you don't get it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Colleen she is a talented writer and the delivery is entertaining but it doesn't change what a sad message it is sending about the individuals that actually think the Company wants people to just buy these products. My goodness, do you know how much money I haven't had to spend on household items and other things because I did the level of work so I got to order the prize.
shaking head.....
Hey, I never would have gone out and purchased a pink electric guitar - but earning one was cool. I actually play it.
ReplyDeleteAnd my onyx ring. Nope, probably wouldn't have gone out to get one, but earn it. Ok.
And my keychain? Nope. I'm thrifty. I won't just buy that stuff. But earn it, ok.
I have never BOUGHT a prize. In fact, I may not make star this quarter, first time in a year and a half, but I'm sure as heck not going to order product just to get the prize.
Common sense. Common sense.
