Raisins aren't berries. They come from grapes.
ReplyDeleteSorry, it just bugs me...lol...I don't even know what that shade of lipstick looks like.
I am going to be testing out some of my new cake decorating supplies this weekend! In fact, I wonder if I feel daring enough to do a doll cake and make the dress out of fondant instead of buttercream?
Sorry, I know I have a one track mind. cake cake cake. Mai caeks, let me show u them. lol
...does a grape count as a berry, though?
ReplyDeleteI'm no botanist. :P
Actual, raisinberry is one of my best selling colors. But it won't work with the goth look ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd good luck with the doll cake Miranda, let us know how it comes out! (PS - if it turns out good, email me a pic!)
Well so far the "skirt" i.e. the cake is crumb-coated in buttercream and the doll pick is made up the way I like them to look. Tomorrow I try the fondant. I also have another cake to finish for a party, heart shaped, to have buttercream icing. It's also leveled and crumb coated (see why I'm up so late?)
ReplyDeleteI had two lipstick colors that ppl bought: plum and shell. Always those same 2.
Miranda, you do you do the makeup on the doll?? (Will this be the first doll cake with a gothic look in the presentation? - that would be so unique! :)
ReplyDeleteA goth doll cake? Now THAT I have to see.
ReplyDeleteBack to the article. I don't understand this director. Doesn't it seem the least bit crazy to put $10, 000 on a credit card in order to say that you met production? Why in god's name would anyone RUIN their business that way? It just doesn't make sense to me.
I would think that by the time you hit NIQ, you would know how to MAKE money, not spend it. When you think about it, how could you keep up the image, if you're buried in credit? Eventually that house of credit cards is going to fall. How would you even build the house, if you haven't put aside money for the down payment? It just doesn't make sense. YKWIM?!!!
Don't get me wrong. I know there are people drowning in debt and managing to look successful... It just seems strange that anyone would buy their way into success. How would you do it? You have to pay on those credit cards sooner or later. I don't know how you could make it to NIQ that way. You'd be broke long before you got there!
Ok. I'm done. Someone inform me here, because PT has me completely confused... or maybe they are the confused ones.
Kim
Yes, I did the makeup on the doll...with a fine point sharpie. :) This one's pretty mild. I had a teenage girl having a birthday party who wanted 2 of these maximally gothed up. I rubbed talcum powder into the faces to get them really pale, went over the eyebrows, etc...
ReplyDeleteskirtingthefog, just click on my name and it will go to my blog where the doll cake is posted.
