Some Pink Food for Thought

Tracy said:

"...I've got to wonder what some publicity of this issue would do to Mary Kay. Do they really want the press getting hold of this? ..."

To which (a little later on) "thinkingpinkstinks" said:

"I understand how you feel Tracy, but unfortunately, at this juncture, I'm not sure what the publicity of this lawsuit would really do. Large corporations are known to be in lawsuits. I can think of a handful right now that have been mentioned in the paper recently. Would it stop me from doing business with them? I'm not sure. MK's position would be noted also, along with the Webers, and it is for the Court to decide."

Very gentle (on 'thinkingpinkstinks' part), but right on nonetheless. Put slightly more bluntly, "Tracy, you need to realize that when something gets "real" press coverage, both sides are presented with a little thing called 'objectivity'."

- just sayin' -

"Well, as for me, I would love to give them all of my PINK KRAP, and stop even selling MK, and let them make money off of it, to help their cause. ( I was thinking that, been then came to my senses.) If they would purchase my items, I would gladly sell it to them, and unload it, along with the prizes, and the pink guitar, and the pink piano. Wonder if they would want to sell that pink krap?

As long as we are on the subject, can we all get together, and contact ToP, that all of us will be character witness's for them against MK? Boy, that would be a hoot. I would love to stand in court and tell the real truth of how SD's and SSD's lie, cheat steal, and use other nameless beings with SS cards to climb to the ladder of suckcess.

MKC, HEAR US NOW. WE WILL NOT LET TOP DOWN, AND WE ARE WILLING TO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT MKC, AND HOW THEY TREAT US AND OUR CUSTOMERS.

he he heeeee"

  1. As I have made clear in my previous posts I have no fondness for MKC. As such I have no problem with TOP and their business practices. Actually though I could care less what happens with this lawsuit. I think it will make little difference in the big picture no matter which way it goes.

What I really want to point out is that every time a pro-mk person posts on PT they get torn up about their grammer and spelling and writing style. It seems that they focus more on that than the actual content of the posts. However they have allowed "Day Radiance lover" to post on their sight and I am doubting that a single word was said about her writing style or lack of refinement or grammatical skills. Also, really does the court really care about what the PTers would say?

  2. Hey I want a comment on Day Radiance lover from Dave.(Your comments are fun to read)

HOW THEY TREAT US AND OUR CUSTOMERS.

This one really gets to me. Because IBC are ultimatly the only ones responsible for how THEIR CUSTOMERS are treated. Now I haven't been in Mary Kay that long, but my director cannot get a hold of my customers unless I provide her with that information. So who is the one treating the customer bad?

As for what she thinks they should speak in court about; that has nothing to do with the lawsuit. The lawsuit is against ToP not Mary Kay, if I am correct. Two wrongs don't make a right. One cannot do something "wrong" just because they were "wronged".

As for the publicity, I just read a marketing book. After reading it, I look at PT and MK differently. All things companies that are great have lovers and haters. If we didn't, we wouldn't go anywhere. So hate us all you want, it will just make people more curious about us. Then they can see both sides of the story and decide for themselves...
    Just my opinion

  3. p4c and smiley,

    Thank you both.

    p4c,

It is a phenomena of the internet/messaging age that has caused the beginning of the downfall of the written language. I even see looser standards in my own writing, the more "active" I am. The time it takes to make sure that your words "work" the way you intend them to tends not to be worth the effort (apparently).

That sword swings both ways though. Attacking someone's grammar or spelling on the internet is often the cheap shot that someone losing an argument jumps to in a last ditch effort to take the attention off of their losing position!

Ironically, I am now so used to the need to decipher poorly written comments that I had to re-read this post after reading your comment... I didn't even remember there was bad grammar there! And I think you are right... most anti-mk folk get a pass while the few pro-mk comments that don't get deleted get passed through several levels of writing critique!!

    smiley,

THANK YOU for that very kind compliment.

I guess I will throw a few thoughts out there.

    1. She seems to suggest that she is willing to stop selling Mary Kay. She is still selling it? How does that work when one of your clients shows up to a "death to Mary Kay" event where you are holding one of the signs?

Client 8: "DRL? is that you?"

    DRL: "Oh hi number 8"

Client 8: "Ummm I am glad I ran into you. I am almost out of my day and night solution."

DRL: "Oh, no problem, I have some in my trunk. Here can you hold this?"

    **

    2. Thankfully she "came to her senses"?

    3. Hmmm... "I hide behind the name "DRL" because I am afraid that using my real name on some obscure website will have dire consequences, but 'I would love to stand in court and tell the real truth of how SD's and SSD's lie, cheat steal, and use other nameless beings with SS cards to climb to the ladder of suckcess.'"

Someone should tell her that "DRL" will not be admissible in court.

    4. "MKC, HEAR US NOW. WE WILL NOT LET TOP DOWN, AND WE ARE WILLING TO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT MKC, AND HOW THEY TREAT US AND OUR CUSTOMERS."

Sooooo you are NOT willing to do this for yourself. You are not willing to do this for future potential IBC's, but you are willing to do this for the owners/operators of a website that you only know about because you read about it here?

    5. The "truth" that you are talking about... what exactly is it? The "pink" truth that it seems like you are referring to will hardly hold any weight in any court. That conversation is going to be over before it starts.

    Judge: "what is your complaint?"

    DRL: "MKC is guilty of..."

    Judge: "is this your signature"

    DRL: "ummm..."

    ***

I guess that is it for now.

Thanks again for dropping by guys.

  4. Ugh, so many people (including DRL) aggravate me over there. There are so many discrepancies in what they say ... so much double talk. I really need to stop reading and just focus on what's important. I just look at pt when I'm bored. Usually it makes me laugh (like that one post a looong time ago where that girl (can't remember which one) wrote about "warm chattering" for pt. Of course she didn't call it "warm chattering," though. LOL it was sooo funny. But lately it's just the same old crap, over and over. And the same posters, too. All ten or so of them lol.
