Ok, what "other" music do you like that I didn't mention?
I mean, I know that I love some good polka music - and the Ska/Reggae groove is an ever present comfort in the 'low' times - but let me have it, what did I miss?

ReplyDeleteIndie rock
ReplyDeleteR & B and also the Blues. They are separate from Rap/hip hop
ReplyDeleteIndie and Punk
ReplyDeleteP.S. I checked everything except country. ;P
ReplyDeleteMK4Me Im a trivia buff I think that we would be good friends.,,
ReplyDeleteI like the Zombies, The Animals,
Hermans Hermits and The Supremes and Dan Hartman and a WHOLE bunch
Guess what Im a black girl...
Hey Colleen, I like all of those too and I am "Snow White" without my tan!! haha...
ReplyDeleteAnyway for being an oldie myself, I go way back but today the song I can't get enough of (I love songs with a good beat) ...
now you y'ungs step away from the computer if you are drinking...
Low by Flo Rida, what a great walking song and on my myspace, my daughter put G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S, and... on unitnet, of course, the Final Countdown by Europe!!
Oh, Mony, mony by Billy Idol, etc..
I love music!
Colleen, I like those groups, too! I like all kinds of music. Except country. Not so into that! LOL! My favorite bands of the moment are Pixies, Belly, Belle & Sebastian, Flaming Lips, and Arcade Fire. I also love Pink Floyd. :) I love talking about music!
ReplyDeletePink Floyd (that is right up my alley) I like Money and Shine on you Crazy Diamond!!! Im not a metal head but I DO like Poison and KISS. People like Ratt I cant get into..by the way Im 45 but most people think Im 30 believe it or not. I DO like Prince, OJays,
ReplyDeleteTemptations and some rap!!! Not too much Rap the old school like RUN DMC, Kurtis Blow and people like that. Im a good dancer but some of my friends laugh at me because next to the Ohio Players they will see the Monkees and Paul Revere and the Raiders..LOL
LOL! I like Prince from the 80's. I never got into his newer stuff. I love KISS! When I was 2 I had KISS Colorforms (anyone remember those???). I like Run DMC, too. My music library ranges from Tchaikovsky (since I've done many of his ballets) to Motley Crue to Arcade Fire to Bob Marley. Lots of different things. I like Poison, too--and they are coming to town! LOL
ReplyDeleteI listen to Contemporary Christian music. :o)
ReplyDeleteOk MK Shay I like Michael W Smith (I hate to say I liked looking at him as much as listening to him)
ReplyDeleteThe Winans, and Petra (although I think they broke up Im not sure) Amy Grant (in her christian days)
well thats it for me as far as contemporary christian. There is this weird show that comes on cable called the Logan Show that has good new Christian acts.
I am with you on this Shay~~ that is why I voted "other". My choice of music is anything contemporary Christian... including oldies, but goodies like Randy Stonehill, Larry Norman, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Tom Howard..... Yep... I go WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back ;)
ReplyDeleteHey does anybody here remember Keith Green? I have an album of his unfortunately he died a while ago in an airplane accident Larry Norman is the CHAMPION of christian music. Hey christians I bet you didnt think I knew that did you? Im not too familiar with the 2nd Chapter of Acts but I hear they are good.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely remember Keith... I was fortunate to see ALL these artists at a WareHouse Christian Ministry several times in Sacramento in the 70s.... Did ticket sales and backstage support for a Larry Norman concert in Davis also. Larry was one of the most humble, but strong people I have ever met and I miss him dreadfully... I cry whenever one of his songs plays on my ipod :(
ReplyDeleteHardcore heavy metal, punk, speed metal...I like angry music with lots of cussing and screaming, but I also love, love, love classic rock.
ReplyDeleteOh, Loverboy, Reo Speedwagon, Survivor (saw all three of them in concert), loved BOC (Y'ungs that would be Blue Oyster Cult) Meatloaf, Van Halen, oh my, fun, music, Oh, I do like Amy Grant, I do love music and dance.
ReplyDeleteAnd my daughter's friends all think her mom is sooooo cool because of the radio station I listen to and that fact I know the words to some of the songs.
Anonymous--you can appreciate this. I met Megadeth and got their autographs (and a photo). I've seen them in concert 4 or 5 times. I've seen Slayer live 2 or 3 times. I've also met Overkill and have seen them in concert several times. I like Metallica, but OLD Metallica not the garbage they put out now. It all ended with their self-titled album, IMO. I like classic rock, too; particularly Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, The Who, and Black Sabbath.
ReplyDeleteYUCK on Megadeath (sorry shades)
ReplyDeleteBut Kudos on Zepplin and everyone else you named. Im no fan of Loverboy but I do like Workin for the Weekend.
