Stump the MK Newbie

Okay. This shouldn't be too hard. LOL

MKHonesty had a pop quiz for me on one of the posts, so I thought it might be fun for the experienced MK consultants to ask questions that every newbie should learn/know. I will do my best to answer. ;)

If you have a question, post it here and (hopefully) get an answer!

If I get stumped (highly likely - LOL), then I will cry uncle and someone else can answer.

This should be fun and great training, too! :o)

  1. Don't you just love word problems!

A consultant with the earned discount priviledge looks at her stock and decides that she needs to order the following four items:
    one 3-in-1 Cleanser (N/D)
    one A/F Moisturizer (N/D)
    one Day Solution
    one Night Solution.

What is her wholesale cost, not including tax and shipping?

  5. Before shipping and tax, it would be $45, right?

  6. ($45 because you can order a Miracle Set instead of each item individually.)

  7. Okay. I have a question. Actually two.

Why is it that on the 29th the only way consultants can submit an order is with the Director's help?

And why would I want to assign my order to a Director (with or without payment)?

    Just wonderin'. LOL

  8. It's to make all directors sit around their computers all day as punishment for not teaching their consultants that orders on the last day of the month take twice as long to get to the consultant.

Hint: Do your order on the day before the last business day of the month.

    But really ...

I think it's a relic from when orders had to be telephoned or hand-delivered on the last business day of the month, but it may still have some value. I think it does two things:

    (1) It may cause consultants to do orders the day before. (Conversely, it may also cause consultants to wait until the new month, especially if they are $200W-ordering consultants who are relying on the EDP for the two following months.)

    (2) It may reduce the number of orders that have "aw shits" in them, such as orders from inactive or terminated consultants that are less than $400 Retail (aka a full-price orders), or orders that are just short of a Biz Builders bonus level.

If you absolutely want to do your order on the last business day, then assigning the order to your director is the only way to do it. If you do, assigning with payment means that your director doesn't have to call you up to get your C/C number. If you think your director is going to add product to your order without your permission, then assign it w/o payment and make her call you to confirm the total. Of course, if you assigned an order with payment and your director added product without calling you, even to just add a pack of cosmetic sponges to get you the next higher bonus, you have every right to be pissed off. Your director has no idea what credit or debit account you are using and its balance. You are expecting a specific known amount to be charged, and charging more could cause all sorts of problems.

  9. BTW, Shay, you are correct. Don't order the individual items; order a miracle set and save $5 plus the sales tax on $10.

  10. I don't know if this is true or not but I have also heard it is to cut down on volume. I know from experience on the last day of anything such as last day pcp enrollment, etc... when loads of people are tyring to enter stuff it has bogged down the system and on occassions caused it to crash. By having everything go thru directors it limits the number of individuals accessing the system.

  11. WOO HOOOO!! I got it right! LOL

I think I will just go ahead and order today then. I don't want my order delayed. :o)

  12. My director has always told us that it is to reduce the volume of people accessing InTouch on the last day of the month. I don't know, though. When I signed up, consultants couldn't even access InTouch online ordering on the last day of the month. Now we can get on and order, we just can't pay on our own.
Maybe it is eventually going to go by the wayside and we will be able to pay for our orders that last day, too.
