Cream to Powder Foundation
Product Review: Cream to powder foundation. I love this stuff. Perfect porcelain matte finish, covers blemishes and imperfections well. Looks very natural. Easy to touch up if you rub some of it off. A+, will buy again.
Karen, please let me know if I've forgotten to review any of the newer MK items I've bought within the past several months.
I also may have forgotten to tell you guys that I got married in May! Time has just gone so quickly. Hubby landed a better job a couple weeks ago in customer service, with full benefits and full time hours. Things are good. :)

Happy Labor Day!!
I am still way to busy to provide new valued articles but until I return, almost any question asked can be answered in previous articles! The best thing about MK is that it might not be "easy" but it is simple - learn the products, learn the presentation, learn the techniques, repeat ;)

Questions!!
I have not have the time to give our blog the proper attention but I will remind our new viewers that we have been around for several years and most answers to most questions can be found in post articles. I can't promise how soon I will be back on top of things as we have many personal items really hogging up our time but thank you for still reading and sticking around.
I did see where there were several questions asked and several people that agreed they would like to have them addressed so let's give it a shot... I will do it in stages but here are the questions:
Hello, I have been thinking about selling MK but was wondering if you could answer some questions of mine.
I am a single mother of a 6 month old and will be needing to take a leave of absence from my part time job. I was thinking about selling MK to have some income. I am hoping to get some honest answers to my questions;
1)would this buisness work for me as a single mom who cannot be away from her child for too long or often?
2)Do you have to sell $200 to be active for the next 3 (or 2?) or do you just have to sell that much in 3 months to be active the next 3?
3)What happens if you do not reach the $200, is there a penalty fee or can you not sell again until you have an order that's a certain amount?
4)How much does the website cost?
5)Dress code?
6)Can people in other states order from your website and have it shipped directly to them or do you have to be a recognized consultant (do the $600 inventory) or sell so much or reach another goal before this could happen?
Please honest answers, I'm not trying to get into something and get screwed over.
Thank you,
Melissa
So I will start and take them one at a time.
#1 Yes--- and actually I love doing appointments in my home. I typical party would probably put you out of the house approx 2 - 2/12 hours so as long as you can be away for that amount of time - I think it would work just fine. I am sure there are consultants that deal with that all the time. I know I love doing appointments right in my home - I did it when my kids were young too and loved it -- they could play in their room or watch a movie and I could "work" and earn $$ and wasn't having to leave them or pay a babysitter! :) Now if the kids aren't well behaved it could be more difficult! Stay tuned for more answers!!
MK Setting Spray review and 2 warm weather makeup techniques
OK, I have had the chance to try out the new MK makeup setting spray. It performed well, no irritation, kept makeup nice all night on the dance floor. I recommend you buy this for the warm weather that's ahead to avoid makeup meltdown. And with that, I have some other tips.
Foiling (wet application) eyeshadow: Dampen brush with MK setting spray, then pick up eyeshadow on brush, then apply by patting/pressing the shadow into the eyelid. This makes the color super dramatic and keeps it in place for such events as going dancing in the evening.
Damp mineral foundation application: Get either a flat foundation brush or a flat top mineral powder brush. Dampen with water, blot off excess, pick up mineral powder on brush and buff gently onto skin in circular motions. Then once you have all your makeup on, close eyes and spritz face with MK setting spray. This method is very anti-meltdown for the warm weather. I can verify that unlike many other mineral powders, MK does not itch your face in hot weather.

A Great Change to Seminar Agenda!
If anyone has ever been to Seminar, as exciting as awards night can be it makes for a tough early morning the next day. I am sure you use more concealer getting ready Day 3 of Seminar than we do in an entire week, lol... the great news is the Company announced a change and I personally believe it will be amazing and fun!! And def. make it more enjoyable for everyone!! Who is planning on attending this year? I am sure it will be a Seminar to go down in History as we Celebrate 50 Years!!
<<
From MK Intouch:
<<
If you joined us for Seminar 2012, you noticed that we'd made some changes here and there to freshen up the format just a bit and keep the anticipation high. Well, guess what? We were only warming up for some even bigger changes coming this year! It's 2013, after all ... we've got to do this 50th anniversary thing up big with an extra dose of fabulous, wouldn't you agree?
<
I'm so incredibly excited - as in "edge-of-my-seat" excited! - to share with you that Awards Night is moving to an Awards Show Afternoon - starting late afternoon and continuing through early evening. As much as we all love to party, don't we all sort of have to admit that even the liveliest among us had a case of the yawns come midnight -and especially on Day 3 morning?
<
But don't worry - we're not ending the celebration too early that evening. After the recognition and glamour of Awards Show comes a super-fun After Party with a band. Who's invited? EVERYONE at Seminar! That's your opportunity to hit the dance floor with your Mary Kay girlfriends, celebrate the successes of those who were just onstage and capture all of those priceless photo opps! We'll wrap up the night around 10 p.m., giving you enough time to recharge for the next day.
Oh - and we're not changing a thing with the attire for the Awards Show; as always, your gorgeous gowns are encouraged. This is your time to feel like the stars you are! Just make sure you can dance in those dresses, because you'll be feeling like a million bucks after a full afternoon of recognition! The Royalty Reception will kick off at the start of the After Party, and qualifiers will enjoy food and drinks in a special VIP area. Food will be available for purchase for other After Party attendees, so we've got everyone taken care of from start to finish!
As we get closer to Seminar, we'll be entertaining other fun updates for the event of the year. (In fact, right now, we're even looking at some cool stage options that could help accommodate more seats in the arena!) We'll keep you posted. We shared this news with Independent National Sales Directors while at Leadership Conference, and we'll give your team members the scoop next week. Of course, if you're just so jazzed about these changes than you can't wait until next week to tell them yourself, we don't blame you!
One more thing I want to share with you about Seminar: All new Sales Directors will debut on the Seminar stage, so no debuts at Career Conference. We're saving that special moment for the big stage at Seminar in front of thousands of their best Mary Kay girlfriends.

Fake Orders
This was asked from a reader but because I know it has been awhile since we covered this. But they are starting to happen again --- they really do try to play on a kind persons sympathies, -- plealse!! if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Noone in one state is going to look for someone across the country to get MK from.
Should you get any orders like these, don't do anything except forward it to mary kay legal.
From our reader:
I have a customer that sent me an email saying that she was deaf and lives in Utah. She wants to place an order for her daughters birthday. Its a $428 order (pre tax), but its 1 item each, mostly, except for 2 things that she wants 2 of. She wants a timewise miracle set, satin lips set, peach satin hands set, night restore and recover complex, broad spectrum spf 30, 2 microdermabrasion sets, 2 Thinking of you parfums, and one bella belara parfum. I thought this sounded mostly reasonable until I read this... but even I myself have bought satin hands, satin lips, timewise miracle set, and a perfume all at the same time before. What should I do? This person contacted my phone first, and then through email.
