  1. Well this Sat and Sunday Im going to help a sister consultant with a skin care class!! On PT they are saying they dont like the new brown director suits (and last year they didnt like the plum) Do you all like the brown suits I think they look fine. My fave are the black ones.

  2. I never did like the suits. In pics they look OK, but I found they looked cheaply made. And the styles don't look good on everyone. But it is an accomplishment. Wear it proudly!

  3. I like this thread. :) This weekend I am working a MK table at a bridal show. I'm excited. I've never done a bridal show before. I never know how to get my foot in the door for some of those big events. Fortunately, I know people who have those connections. ;) I have some high expectations. It will be an experience!

I don't know if I've seen a picture of the new brown suits yet. My favorites were the grey tweed suits they had last year (that was before the plum, right?). My least favorite suit was the blue one. I'm going to go out on a limb and presume I'll like the brown. I like to wear brown myself so I'm a little biased. :D

  4. shades,
hope you had a great time at the Bridal Fair. I just love doing bridal fairs. Our big one will be January 27 and we have been with this one for 10 years.

What is super fun is we even get to provide and assist with the makeup for the models for the fashion show and they announce that. Then you should see the increased interest at our table after the fashion show.

One note, what could be great one year may not be so great the next, weather, other activities, etc.. always affect turnout so never give up after just one attempt. Give it a couple of of tries before you decide if it was awesome or not worth it!

  5. This is one of the things I love most about this business and what we do:

Received this from one client today and the second one a couple of days ago and the third just before Christmas and it dawned on me that this is what really makes everything worth it. Hope you enjoy them:

    Dear mk4me,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I am so glad you followed up on me and put me together for the wedding!! I've been very faithful and I'm really enjoying my MK products.
Thank you again, I feel good about my new "face" and I know you put me on the right skin care path.
    Love Client

The second is from a client that bought the mint energizing foot treatment for her dad because he has real problems with his feet and circulation:

mk4me, Thank you for sending the lotions for my husband. I told him you said to use it sparingly and rub it in that he was using too much to need another already. We appreciate you telling us that. He uses this on his ankles and feet when they begin to itch. He has been wearing 35 degee below socks because of the feet problems he has from when his feet were frozen in Korea 55 years ago and the last couple of years, they have been giving him alot of problems. He is out in the cold alot and changes his socks as soon as he comes in. The lotion seems to quickly help. Sometimes in the middle of the night he wakes up and they are really giving him problems and then other nights they are okay. On the bad nights the cream helps. Hopefully this will do him for the winter but if not, I will have my daughter get intouch with you, enclosed is your check, Sincerely, happy customer

    Dear mk4me,
Hi, How are you? I love the new me. I've had so many compiments on my makeup. Thank you again for everything. I really enjoyed the time spent with you. I feel I have gained not only a consultant, but a friend. Again, thank you. I treasured our time together. It was so personal. Love client

Tip for all consultants, I save these, if I ever am having a down day, I just read a few of them and guess what, the pep is back in my step and all is right with the world again.

I am so glad I earn good money doing Mary Kay but I will tell you, honestly, I think even if I had to work another job for $$ I would still do this parttime for the thank you's such as these. Sometimes there is more in life than $$, I am so grateful that we in Mary Kay can have both!

  6. Hey MK4Me, I totally missed your posts on here. Glad you referred me back! Thank you! I have a nice email I received from a hostess a couple years ago that I'll share:

    Hi Shades of Pink,

I just wanted to tell you again what a great time I had on Saturday. MK has wonderful products for women with a variety of skin types and complexions, and the parties are a fun way to try the products. You are so friendly and personable, I'm sure you will do very well as an MK rep.

I hope we didn't keep you out too late, but we were enjoying your company when the presentation was over. When you are around, you are "one of the girls", and I look forward to seeing you at Friend's party.

    Thanks,
    Hostess

The bridal show went very well! I have been to busier shows (as a bride myself, not a consultant), but this was still good. The bulk of people were there from roughly 12:30-2:00. I managed to get 36 leads. Out of those about 7 already have consultants. I have about 29 people I can call. Not bad results at all for my first birde show! I'm excited to get started with the calls!

Thanks again, MK4ME for sharing the thank you's you got. Those really do make everything worth it. :)
